The club was started in the Autumn of '99 under Mr Jon Hutton I Degree, Mr Hutton had the difficult job of teaching a class of white belts with no assistant instructor! He took his team of junior coloured belts to the Scottish Championships 2000 and returned with 3 gold,a bronze medal and the overall coloured belt champion. Later that same year the team went to the UKTF British championships and brought back a gold and two bronze - what a year! Mr Hutton took his II degree grading in Sept 2000 and was unfortunately moved to Elgin due to his work.
In stepped Mr Cripps ( then a 1st Kup ) Mr Cripps prepared for and successfully passed his Black belt grading in March 2001, Since then Mr Cripps has seen his students attain further tournament successes at the Scottish Championships 2001,where he himself took the gold medal in the 35+ Black belt sparring event.
We now look forward to another instructor joining our team, Mr Hancock joins us in the near future.
